Risograph spot color separation in Photoshop

Risograph printing · Raghaus, Newburgh, New York

Our Risograph MZ 990 prints with two drums, which allows us to print two colors at a time. However, the files need to be separated in a very specific way

Option #1
It’s best to provide an individual file for each color that needs to be printed.

Option #2
This specific model Riso has a built-in RIP (Raster Image Processor) that allows us to print from the computer and to separate two colors at a time from an RGB file.
Color One needs to be RGB black (0 0 0) and the second color (255 0 0) – print each of the two RGB colors with the required ink drum.
